Surface grinding wheels, a style of abrasive wheels & discs, are used with portable and stationary grinders for efficient material removal. Bonded with abrasive such as aluminum oxide (also known as corundum), ceramic aluminum oxide, or silicone carbide, they have a designated grit number that corresponds with their level of material removal and final finish. Surface grinding wheels grit may be extra coarse, coarse, medium, or fine.

Surface Grinding Wheels are used for stock removal, flat surfaces grinding and finishing large molds and dies, sharpening knives, blades and cutlery.
